“It takes a village to raise a child” is a well-known African proverb that emphasizes the importance of community in raising children. The proverb suggests that the responsibility of raising a child is not just on the parents, but also on the community as a whole.

Our team combines our knowledge of positive youth development principles, and our life experience as parents, educators, and coaches, with the data from our partners to deliver programming that equips our youth with the skills for success at home, in school and in the community.

YES Inc staff provide mentoring focused on character education, leadership development and college- and career-readiness that help students, families, schools and community groups utilize a village approach to support improved student outcomes.

A new YES Inc partnership might include:

1. An initial meeting with school staff for a site visit, data review, and/or identification of target student population

2. Goal development, review/creation

3, Identify workshop or content to address need

4. Develop timeline for sessions, evaluation, check-ins and final report.

5. Program/Workshop Implementation

6. Final Report and Recommendations
